Hey,
Kids! A-1 Comics! It's the all-new freakin' huge
A-1 Roseville location. Es muy largo, y muy bueno.
And
here's familiar Nice Guy creators Tim Watts and
Michael O'Connell (right) hanging out their table
with AM 1140's famous morning guy, Whitey Gleason
(under the sign) and 1140's Scott (sorry, man, didn't get your last
name), and (standing) A-1 owner Brian Peets!
And
other guests as well! Here's Mr. and Mrs. Chris Wisnia
(Chris is another Sac creator, the man behind Tabloia),
and a guy comics fans MIGHT be familiar with...Mr. Kurt
Busiek.
Here's
a look at some of the cool stuff you can buy at A-1. And that's
just one corner! If you'd shown up on this day, you could have gotten
it all at 20-50% off, too. SUCKER!!
Here's
some of the younger A-1 shoppers who showed up, checking out the
table where board games are 20% off! Only one thing to say to that.
Yahtzee!!
Check
out all the statues and figurines for 20% off, too. At those prices,
I should have picked Tim up the Iron Man I see in there...
And
Superman showed up! Okay, you got me. It's just a cardboard standup.
Just for a minute there, though, you believed a man can fly, didn't
you?
Just
another shot of the store. This, by the way, was the view from our
table. I felt a little bad for our hundreds of fans who showed,
since all the merchandise got in the way of the line. The line had
to loop inside into the rain, and went on down three city blocks.
Oh, wait, I'm awake, aren't I? Sorry.
Here
Nice Guy artist Tim Watts is either explaining something in great
detail to a fan, or wishing he had some Tums. Can't decide which.
Here
we are with A-1 Employee and Nice Guy fan Ruthie.
What Ruthie's doing there is closing her eyes real tight and trying
to imagine that we're Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross.
Hey,
our pal A.T. showed up! And he's checking out action
figures! Didn't buy any. Cheap bastard.
And
finally, here's Tim, when things quieted down, working on a sketch.
